Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel Isaiah 7:14
By the grace of God, here we are again celebrating the birth of our Savior. The birth of Jesus is the birth of hope for a world shrouded in the darkness of sin.
Although almost half of the world’s population celebrates Christmas on December 25th, many of them do not associate this celebration with the birth of the Jesus. And among those who celebrate the birth of the Lord and are called Christians, there are some who do not believe that Jesus was born of the Virgin, as the Scripture proclaims.
The birth of the Virgin cannot be questioned by those who accept the Bible and its authority. The prophet Isaiah heralded the birth of the Virgin, the angel Gabriel told Mary that she would have a son – without her knowing the man. The angel who came in the dream to Joseph said that the child who would be birth by the Holy Spirit.
This truth must be accepted by faith! The Bible declares it and we believe it! Mary accepted this miracle by faith, even though she did not understand “how would this come to pass?”. For her it was enough to hear that “no word from God is void of power”. God made the first man out of the Earth’s clay, so why would it be too hard for him to make a virgin give birth? We have no reason to believe that this miracle would have been beyond the power God.
The Apostle Paul wrote that “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. ” So only those who receive Jesus, the one born of a Virgin, are guided by the Holy Spirit, will believe that he walked on the sea, calmed the storm, resurrected Lazarus, and saved us from sin.
During these holidays we want all of us, together with our friends and visitors to believe the Word of God and by faith, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as the Savior. Thus, we experience fully His birth in our hearts.
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Act 16:31
We wish you blessed holiday with much grace and happiness!
